My name is Andreas Stokholm
I was born to Danish parents back in 1989, and had a great childhood in Denmark. When I was 23 I moved to Sweden to live with my girlfriend, and I’ve been here since. We currently live in a small village called Köpmanholmen, slightly south of Örnsköldsvik, in northern Sweden.
In the fall of 2019 we got our wonderful pup, Luna. Pictured below helping my girlfriend with the flowers.
Work life
I started my work life out as what would now be called a full stack developer for Miinto Group. After I had been there for a couple years or so, I moved to Sweden and started working at ServiceFinder.se.
After my tenure at ServiceFinder, I started working with Alexander Bergendahl (my current CEO and co-founder) for his previous company Poppermost Productions, where I was hired to develop the backend to power that game. From day one Alexander asked me to consider if this could be turned into a product we could sell to other game studios. More on that in a little bit.
Sadly SNOW wasn’t a monetary success, although it did achieve quite high monthly player counts. So when we had to stop development, I was hired by Avalanche Studios where I worked on their engine and backend teams for a short while before I left to join the startup Karma. I worked on games like The Hunter, The Hunter: Call of the Wild, Rage 2 and Just Cause 4, and Generation Zero during that time.
At Karma I started out on the infrastructure team where we moved the entire platform to a modern Kubernetes setup, from a very old and scrappy setup which involved pm2 and other such tools. After a while I joined the team that was responsible for the consumer facing application and the services powering it, as a Backend Developer. In this role my primary responsibility was to modernize the services, and prepare them for the explosive growth Karma was experiencing.
During my time at Karma, Alexander reached out to me and suggested we buy the backend technology out of Poppermost and start our own company. I thought that was a splendid idea, so we set out to make that happen. After a few months Alexander had found a great group of investors, and I quit my job at Karma to pursue my current adventure…
